Mary’s Land Farm Holiday Event

Please join the Howard County History Society and partners at our holiday celebration, “Family History Day and Holiday Mart at Mary’s Land Farm,” on December 11th from 1-4 p.m. at Mary’s Land Farm – also known as the Treakle Farm (HO-1165) – located at 4979 Sheppard Lane, Ellicott City, MD. The event will take place on the grounds and in the Farm’s tented outdoor Party Pavilion which is well-equipped with propane heaters.

Presenters include our fellow historical organization partners, who will be offering information, keepsakes & holiday gifts, as well as artisan crafters, garden clubs, and strolling carolers. Visitors can also enjoy hot cocoa and cider, tasty snacks, and participate in a raffle. Children can enjoy holiday crafts, coloring pages, story-time with Mrs. Claus, and even photo ops with Santa himself. On the grounds, visitors – young and older – can check out the Inn at Mary’s Land Farm (formerly the Treakle Farm House ca 1835), book a wagon ride, enjoy friendly visits with local farm animals, and perhaps encounter visitors from the 18th-19th Century.

We are also taking this opportunity to collect cold-weather gear – hats, scarves, mittens/gloves, and warm socks – for children and adults from the Day Resource Center and Grassroots. We encourage you all to bring a contribution for our gift-trees to assist those in need.

Admission to the event is only $10/household/family and registration and pre-payment are available online – just click on the button below.
