We are happy to announce that the Howard County Historical Society has received a grant from Maryland Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020.
The operational grant from Maryland Humanities and the NEH will help us to continue our mission of collecting, preserving, and providing access to artifacts, documents, images and ephemera front Howard County’s past. We will use the funds from MHC and NEH to develop our new interactive website, which will provide new access to our collection and provide resources for local history education. Along with many other public history institutions, HCHS is transitioning into virtual programming, remote access, and more user friendly technology for our members and the community as a whole. Thank you to Maryland Humanities and NEH for the opportunity to improve our organization during difficult times.
