Event Details

This presentation highlights the contributions of selected women supporters, advocates, and activists in the Civil Rights movement. Many times, recognition of these participants has been neglected in favor of the more notable men recognized as leaders in the fight for civil rights. However, women played a significant role in advancing the cause and, increasingly, historians are bringing light to the impact of this overlooked aspect to the nationwide crusade for equal rights.
